For Her




For her, I would dare to fly too closely to the sun

and risk being destroyed by its massive power...

only for the chance to grace her beauty and hold it dearly.


Only for her...would I fall so blindly.

I felt Bruegel's painting titled "Fall of Icarus" might be an appropriate comment. I love your writing...it seems so simple at first glance until you find all the allusions and hidden feelings behind it. I hope this painting comes out:

Wow...it has been so long since I have looked upon these poems.

I share the same embarrassment many probably feel when uncovering books and books of poetry they wrote in high school, college, etc.

The funny thing about this poem....is that, for me, it is about POWER.
