Junk Food (free album download - Hip-Hop)

Download "Junk Food" Album from Bandcamp

My buddy Ray, a.k.a. Metafisix is on fire!!! A little while ago he ended up co-releasing a sweet sounding remix of Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know."

This time around, Metafisix has teamed up with producer Junkie Jay to make the album "Junk Food" (March 2012).  Right now, this is some of my favorite sounding stuff coming from El Paso. I think they really hit some nice music/lyrical combinations on many of the tracks. I'm particularly fond of several tracks on the album including: "Blame the Music," "Stars," and "Time Flies." While all of the songs are worth listening to, these several fall under my own specific tastes and quite honestly, I've been playing them on repeat the last week or so. "Stars" for example is brilliantly done and simply just damn catchy -Metafisix' words move so fluidly with a well written instrumental piece. If you haven't done so already, you should go and download this album!

Let me know what you think ^_^

Amp_Live - "15 Stepz" (from his album "Rainy Dayz"

I'm usually a bit hesitant when somebody does a re-mix (re-interpretation) of a favorite band. The truth is, the remix is a natural fact of life; I  enjoy this one from Amp_Live from his album "RainyDayz Remixes" (a conceptual hip-hop/electronic album remix of Radiohead's "In Rainbows")

"15 Stepz" - Amp_Live feat. Codany Holiday

A little more about the album:

Amp_Live's introduction and eponymous track greets the listeners with the line: "Within every rainbow there is a story, a song. Within every rainbow, there is a journey. Within every rainbow, there are....rainy days" - Intro to album Rainy Dayz Remixes.

(CD Album Promotion) Echoes in the Park: Live at the UTEP Union Breezeway

Echoes in the Park (Live) at the UTEP Union Breezeway, now available on Amazon.com

Greetings all,

Today I want to share with you some exciting news from one of my very own music projects, Echoes in the Park.  To recap, 'Echoes in the Park' is an African, Latin, Jazz, Beach Rock, Drum Circle, Fusion experiment of listening pleasure. We naturally developed into a performing group after several years of playing drum circles together at Tom Lea park.

On Friday, October 14th 2011, Echoes in the Park played an hour set at the UTEP Union Breezeway as part of the activities planned for the Border Activist Summit for Training and Action (BASTA) event. Fortunately, this set ended up being recorded and is now available for your listening pleasure.  The album consists of original compositions ranging from the spontaneous to the structured. As a matter of fact, there are two BONUS songs from actual Echoes in the Park drum circles. The recording has a definitive "Bootleg" feel to it, so be prepared (unless you like that kind of thing).

All I can say is that I've had a blast and the time of my life playing music with this group of people.

Just in time for the holidays! Look into buying one today. You can find the album here on Amazon: Echoes in the Park [Live] at the UTEP Union Breezeway
